Happy Canadian Thanksgiving!

May the best things in life be yours, not only this Thanksgiving but throughout the years. Happy Thanksgiving from my heart to yours!

Thanksgiving Day is a national holiday. In Canada, it is always celebrated the second Monday of October. Its purpose is to give thanks for the abundance of the harvest. Friends and family gather together to enjoy a huge dinner, usually constituted of a turkey and many sides, such as pies.

Read these two funny quotes to put you in the mood for a family feast 😋

“You can tell you ate too much for Thanksgiving when you have to let your bathrobe out.” – Jay Leno

“I love Thanksgiving turkey… it’s the only time in Los Angeles that you see natural breasts.” – Arnold Schwarzenegger

Stoya Ruined Porn for Her Dad

Sexy Stoya pornstar

This is maybe the most delightful and hilarious hazard of the trade in porn…  You’re out to your friends and family and they approve, but then they stumble upon you in their own searches for porn.  The human body is a beautiful thing and sexuality is important and integral to our lives.  Still, though.  You don’t necessarily want to see someone who is very platonic in your life pop up in your tube site feed.  I don’t have many people like that in my life, but they all know not to search certain things if they don’t want to run into me doing what comes naturally.

That said, Stoya’s dad seems to have gotten the message the hard way, and I can imagine that it must be tough since she’s contracted to big companies who buy a lot of ads.  I’m sure he knows not to search anything she could potentially be related to, but she has her own Fleshlight, so…  I can only imagine that that’s one of the more graphic things that you just don’t want to see from your own flesh and blood.

This video is hilarious…  She’s very telegenic and charming, and she explains the whole issue.  It wouldn’t embed here for some reason, but you’ll get the jist.  I’m glad Huffington Post is starting to pay attention to porn in such a mainstream way.  It’s awesome.

So, if someone in your life made porn, would you be curious or horrified?  (Obviously I’m talking about friends, not family…)  That said, what would you think if someone in your family did porn?  A lot of people respect it fundamentally, but wouldn’t want someone in their life to actually be a part of it.  It’d be interesting to hear what people think here.

Deck the Halls

Sexy photo of Camille Crimson decking the halls

Here I am, decking the halls yesterday.  I just wanted to share this little moment, which I love so much.  I’ve already spoken of a very interesting decoration that will not be on my tree this year, but I enjoy putting up garlands everywhere, not just the tree.  Tastefully, of course.  We don’t have a giant reindeer on the roof or anything.  😛

I want my house to look like the holidays are here, then to cook and fill all the rooms with the smells of the season.  Soon we’ll have lots of conversation to create the sounds, then savouring the tastes at various delicious meals together…  It all just feels like Christmas, and every bit is a part of it.

What are your traditions that get you in the mood to be festive around this time of year?  Do you have any?  I’d love to be let into your worlds a bit.  For me, decorating is the best way to enter into holiday mode.  I hope you’re entering it too.  😉

The Pleasures of Slow Living

This week, I’ve decided to focus on taking it slow…  I want to look at different aspects of living life in a more mindful way.  This is related to Slow Motion Blowjob, of course, but it’s more than that.  I spend a lot of my time looking at was that I can enjoy things more and be more present in my life.  The idea of living slow is a central idea that I keep coming back to.

One thing that I look to when I think about the value and pleasure of slow living is an article from lifestyle blog Mark’s Daily Apple.  It deals with all facets of slow living, and points out some very valid ways in which living life at a break-neck speed hinders us:

On a personal level, it can encompass all of the games we play with ourselves to stay above water like eating quick instead of nourishing food, neglecting fitness and play, using stimulants to get through another afternoon, giving up sleep, and multitasking our way through each day. In our attempts to meet the most immediate obligations, we miss filling our most essential needs.

I don’t want to live my life without really connecting to the meaningful people and things that make it worth living.  I love food, I love good drink, I love music, I love the arts, I love leisure, I love sex, I love Mike, I love my close friends and family and I love all of you.  I want to be able to give time to everything, even when modern thought dictates that I should be too busy with other things.  So, I’ll be blogging this week about ways to slow down and enjoy things and themes around slow living that interest me.

I’d love to know…  What do you think of the idea?  And what do you do to slow down and appreciate things?

Canadian Thanksgiving

I know that the vast majority of you aren’t Canadian, but I wanted to wish you all a Happy Canadian Thanksgiving anyways!  As a true lover of fall, I love autumnal foods and colours…  The way it gets colder and you just want to curl up with someone…  That said, we actually had a heat wave in Montreal over the weekend and it was nearly 30 degrees with the humidex on Saturday.  That’s not exactly cozy up under a blanket and drink mulled wine weather, now is it?

Oh well.  Regardless of the fact that it was less sweater weather, more summer dress weather, this time of year always has this special feeling for me.  It’s a feeling of warmth, and I feel like the idea of Thanksgiving is a very good representation of that feeling.

So, what am I thankful for this year?  Well, much like every year, I’m thankful for a lot.  I’m thankful for all the wonderful people in my life, I’m thankful for my family, I’m thankful that I have an incredible partner, I’m thankful that I have a fulfilling career and I’m thankful for all the amazing people I have met through what I do.  I’m very very grateful to have people like you in my life.   I don’t need a specific holiday to reflect on it, but in the spirit of the day, I thought I’d reiterate what I often say.  I appreciate you all so much.  Thank you.

More Questions and Answers

You ready for more questions?  Today, I picked out two questions, which fit together well enough to make up a blog post together:

Well I guess, if there is a question that I’ve pondered, it’s always been “how does it all begin? How does someone discover their talent for ‘the art of blowjob’ and how does it morph into a dedicated career?”…..think it has to be a fascinating story from start to finish.  (GJ)

Has anyone ever recognized you on the street?
How does being an erotic artist (and running TAoBJ) affect your relationship with friends and family?
Any tips for couples who would like to start filming their own romp for personal viewing?  (Alice)

I’ll start with the first question.  How did I find out that I had the blowjob aptitude?  Honestly, it didn’t really hit until I was dating Mike.  Obviously, I gave blowjobs before him, but it was always just part of sex, which I enjoyed enough, but not something with the amazing spark and passion that brought me to want to make it a huge part of my life.  I guess it’s a lot about the fact that I met the right person.  It’s not that our sex life is entirely blowjob-centric, but I have such a huge urge to please him and to be really great at what I do, probably because he’s the same way in return.  We decided to go with blowjobs for the site because that’s the best niche to shoot and to revolutionize (which holds true) but it really could have been any aspect of sex in that we’re both so passionate in our lives.

For the other question or line of questions…  I’ve never been recognized on the street outright.  I have had a few looks that indicated that the person probably knew who I was, but no one has ever come up to me and asked if it was me.  I don’t know how I’d react if they did.  It would be a very surreal experience.  Even though I’m very open with what I do and who I am, being “known” has never crossed into my non-online life.

My erotic job doesn’t effect too much with my life.  I had some issues with family members who didn’t understand what I do, but there’s always going to be someone who doesn’t get it.  Asides from that, those who are in my life have been very supportive and frankly impressed at everything we’re doing.  It’s more than just making porn.  We’re business owners, entrepreneurs and we’re doing something out of the ordinary.

If I were to give any advice to a couple thinking of getting into the adult industry, I would just advise them to think about the balance between professional and amateur stuff.  If you’re going to do amateur stuff, that’s fine, but make sure it won’t interfere with your work life.  If you actually want to make your career in the adult world, just know that you’re going to really need to put something out there that’s spectacular and different, otherwise people are liable to look the other way.  It’s a risky venture, so make sure you either put in the effort so it pays off, or keep your faces/other distinguishing features off camera.  Asides from that, enjoy!  😉
