Top Ten Sexiest Geeks

3 Jan

Sexy redhead Camille Crimson gives a sensual blowjob in glasses

Remember how I mentioned that I wanted to be one of Violet Blue’s top ten sexiest geeks? Well…

I’m number 9! I’m number 9! I’m number 9!

That’s right. I’m one of Violet Blue’s top ten sexiest geeks! And I couldn’t have done it without you all. She even brings it up in her blurb about me:

The nominations for Camille Crimson were many (I ignored the comment spamming; her fans are rabid). But, Crimson is a true indie adult webmaster (and performer), a Mac evangelist, she has built her own empire of websites, she codes and designs, is a photo/video editing geek, is an incredibly articulate pundit about women in online adult business and feminism, a nimble social media user, and a serious gamer.

So, oops about the comment spamming, but thank you for being such supportive and wonderful fans!  I know it sounds silly, but this is a big honour for me.  There are times when being geeky feels like being meek and shy, but this is empowering and sexy geekiness.  This is the kind of thing that really validates who I am:  a geek who loves sex!  And now I have a badge of honour to go with it, thanks to you guys.  Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to go reward myself with something geeky.  Sci Fi?  Gaming?  Sci Fi Gaming?  Who knows?  A special thank you to Violet Blue for selecting me for this honour!

Sexiest Geek?

13 Dec

Hey everyone!

So, the incomparable Violet Blue is holding nominations for the top 10 sexiest geeks.  I’m a sexy geek, aren’t I?  Well, I didn’t want to be a loser and nominate myself (I’m a geek after all, not a loser) and I wanted to see if any of you would consider nominating me.  I’ve been looking through her who NOT to nominate and I think I’m in the clear:

* Celebrities, especially Hollywood ones and empty Twitterati.
* “Hot” chicks who do tech PR – and that is all they do. Write a line of code? Okay. Write a press release? Nope.
* Babes who pose in bikinis with video game themed accessories (sorry Girls of Nerdcore — though I do love my geek-flavored cheesecake).
* Models and actors who talk the talk but don’t walk the walk.
* Anyone I have had sex with. Sorry! (Okay, I was only sorry once. But it was *after* I made the list, okay?!)
* Babes, sex workers, “studs” or porn performers with “geek” and “nerd” plastered all over their paysites, with nothing to back it up.
* People who are cute, but no one seems to know why they have geek cred.

Since I’m a coder, a web designer, a photo/video editing geek, a Sci-Fi/zombie aficionado, a gamer and a Mac evangelist, I think I’m more than just a surface geek…  I’m geek to the core.  And even though I’ve been talking about it a lot recently, it’s just because my geekhood has been on my mind.

So, if you’d like to nominate me, just post in the comments section and earn my geek love.

Geek or Nerd?

8 Dec

Geek-Nerd-Diagram

Check out this amazing venn diagram from Mashable.  As you can probably guess, I identify as a geek.  I’m definitely a computer geek with a real obsession about coding and Macs.  And I’m certainly good at it, so that covers the intelligence.  I don’t think I’m awkward, so that negates the social ineptitude.

Here’s a really interesting article I found about nerd vs. geek and it seems like this diagram wasn’t always accurate.  Geeks bit the heads off of animals in the freak shows and nerds are a fabrication by Dr. Seuss.  But mostly the article is cool because it takes a bunch of geek/nerd icons and finds out how they identify.

There’s a great quotation about geeks from one of the stars of Big Bang Theory:

So the term ‘geek’ or ‘nerd,’ it really just transcends to someone who’s very passionate about a certain lifestyle. You see a lot of people living their lives in the middle. These guys don’t. They don’t live their life in the middle, they go for whatever they want. And of course, according to the regular society it’s really not the norm, but I think we share that similarity

We’re all passionate.  That’s the most important of geekdom, and even of nerds.

So, what are you?  A geek, a nerd, a dweeb or a dork?  And how does that make you feel?

World AIDS Day

1 Dec

Today is World AIDS day.  HIV/AIDS is still a very important issue in our society.  Yes, infection rates are on the decline, but there is still so much left to be done if we want to continue the decline.  Everyone needs to get tested.  Don’t make assumptions about your status.  Once you know, you have absolute peace of mind and you can go on with your life or address it and act accordingly.

If everyone got tested, everyone would know and people would be able to make proactive choices about their health.  We’re at a point where if you catch it early, you can be medicated and still be able to live a great life and find ways to enjoy a robust sex life…  But only if you know your status and get the necessary information to make the right choices.  And seriously, use condoms unless you are in a 100% monogamous and tested relationship.  You never know, so don’t take a risk in the name of pleasure.

More than that, we need to reduce the stigma about HIV/AIDS.  The only way we can do that is to have lots more education with the truth about how you get it and how you can protect yourself so that people stop making assumptions about people with HIV/AIDS.  It’s equally important to empower people with HIV/AIDS to make healthy choices and to be able to enjoy their lives.  And lastly, we need to find a cure, a vaccine and better ways to manage symptoms while HIV/AIDS is still so prevalent.

It is actually possible to stop the spread, both here and abroad, and the best way to do that is to support organization that educate, empower and research.  So, after you’ve gotten tested and reminded your friends, family and partners to get tested too, open your wallet and give what you can to end HIV/AIDS.  There have been many terrible communicable diseases throughout history.  We’re not still grappling with them, so there is hope for HIV/AIDS as well.  But only if we really care.

Dita Von Teese is Sexy

3 Nov

I know this is technically an ad, but I absolutely love it.  Dita is such a goddess, and I love her as the nerdy scientist before her transformation.  In a way, she kind of reminds me a bit of myself there.  If only I could be in a video with her.

Burlesque culture is really big in Montreal, so I’ll have to explore that more.  It would be so much fun to do a Dita-inspired shoot for The Art of Blowjob some day, too.  She’s such an icon of sexiness.  She’s such an inspiration to me.

Unfortunately, they never brought this collection to Canada and I don’t trust buying online since my size is never exactly 100% sure, but I would love to wear anything in this video.  Not only is she a burlesque star, she’s quite the designer, too.

What do you think of the classic burlesque look?  What’s your favourite thing about burlesque?

Camille Crimson loves cats

I’m not going to say that I’m a crazy cat lady, but I do have three wonderful cats.  I’m definitely a cat lover and have been for a long time.  They have such sweet, funny personalities and they’re all so individual.  It’s nice to be able to care for a wonderful little creature, but I feel like they give something back to me too.

I’ve been really busy with friends in town, so this will be a short blog, but I wanted to post a link to an article I came across on Jezebel (in the same network as Fleshbot) about how cats are actually really good for you.  Apparently a cat’s purr can lower your blood pressure and reduce stress.  I’m definitely inclined to agree with this.

More than that, cats understand when something’s wrong.  Whenever I’m feeling sick or when I’ve had a bad day, at least one of my cats will find their way to me and provide some cuddles and head bumps to cheer me up.  So, a momentary diversion from blowjobs and porn to talk about delightful animal companions.
