Sexiest Picture Ever

1 Sep

I know, this is probably not the picture you were expecting, but to me…  Wow!  Here’s my crush object Patrick Stewart voicing his support of Amnesty International endeavours to end violence against women.  That’s pretty sexy right there.  On top of his geek fred, his intelligence, his talent and his rugged good looks, he’s a compassionate person who understands the value of looking beyond his life at people and causes in need of help.

Sure, he may have just been accosted with a sign and a camera on his way about town (as evidenced by his shopping bag…  couldn’t someone have held it for him for a few seconds?) but he still took the time out to be an advocate for women’s rights.  There are few things sexier than a man who respects women as his equals and wants to help out.

Besides, look at that serious expression and that motorcycle jacket…  Swoon!

Steve Jobs

25 Aug

I got the news last night:

To the Apple Board of Directors and the Apple Community:

I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come.

I hereby resign as CEO of Apple. I would like to serve, if the Board sees fit, as Chairman of the Board, director and Apple employee.

As far as my successor goes, I strongly recommend that we execute our succession plan and name Tim Cook as CEO of Apple.

I believe Apple’s brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it. And I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in a new role.

I have made some of the best friends of my life at Apple, and I thank you all for the many years of being able to work alongside you.

Steve

I know it might seem kind of silly for me to be sad about this, especially since he’s still staying on as the Chairman of the Board, but it feels like the end of an era in a lot of ways, and unfortunately it doesn’t signal great things about his health.

Tim Cook seems like a great guy, and I’m sure he will continue to do wonderful things for the company, but Steve Jobs is an extraordinary person.  He changed the world, not just with computers…  He’s just inspirational to me as a human being.  He has inspired me a tremendous amount to have a vision, to be clear, precise and beautiful in everything I do.

So, thank you, Steve.  Thank you for your wonderful work with such an amazing company, bringing it to unbelievable heights and for doing so much to inspire so many along the way.

Google+ Doesn’t Like Blowjobs

14 Jul

Camille Crimson gives a sensual and sexy handjob

Even though I’m a Mac girl first and foremost, I’m certainly also into Google.  I use Gmail, I use Google analytics, I use several Google subsidiaries, like Youtube and I like their philosophy of not being evil.  But, apparently they don’t like me so much…  Or, at least they don’t like blowjobs.  And that’s just sad.  Violet Blue posted about it a few days ago, but after perusing it for myself slightly the other day…  I’m not impressed.

It seems that they’ve made their new social network out to be completely NSFW-free, even going as far as to take a clause for art out of their terms of service.  Basically, if you post a beautiful nude painting, you’ll be in trouble.  That certainly applies to the photos I love to share.  Even worse, they specifically mention that Google+ cannot be used to promote adult websites.  It’s not that I don’t love just talking to you guys, but the site is a big part of my life and I like to share it.

Facebook is awkward because I can’t ever say anything about the site, I can’t link to anything even related to my site and I can’t post any content that is even suggestive.  It seems like Google+ is the same way, but with even less sharing capacities.  Until they revise their sex negative policies, I think I’m going to have to pass…

A Note on Internet Nudity

20 Jun

Today, I thought I’d give you some friendly Camille Crimson words of wisdom.  The internet is a magical place with lots of naked people…  But that doesn’t necessarily mean that you should join in.  Yes, the human body is a beautiful thing, but you need to think long and hard (no pun intended) before joining the throngs of nudity, throwing caution and your underpants to the wind.

My rule of thumb is that you need to be okay with people finding what you put out there, even if you send it privately or you use a pseudonym.  And I don’t just mean you friends.  I mean your parents, your boss, your significant other, your elderly neighbours down the street…  Everyone.  How does that make you feel?

It’s also important to consider what kind of content you’re putting out there and what it signifies.  Taking some beautiful artistic nudes for self-confidence or creating some genuinely beautiful porn is a bit different than snapping a picture or your penis while giving a thumbs up.  One can garner a certain amount of respect, at least from open-minded people, the other…  Not so much.

Maybe some day none of this will matter, and we’ll all be encouraged to explore our sexuality and that won’t seem like it’s in contradiction to any other parts of our personalities…  But for now, that’s sadly not the case.  The truth is, pretty much everyone is doing it, but it really is best to actually weigh your options and consider things before you snap one off with your iPhone or put something up on Xtube.  Especially if you’re a politician.

Sperm Banking Made Easy

3 May

This is a really hilarious video that I found on Violet Blue‘s site and couldn’t resist sharing it with you.  Springboarding off of the brilliant Australian sperm donation ad that I blogged about a while back, I figured I’d share this “brilliant innovation” as the next logical step in sperm donation.  So, what do you think?  Disturbing peek into the future or a welcome alternative payment method?  And what about us women?  Egg donation is a lot more painful and time-consuming…  Maybe this is best left in the realm of sexual science fiction.

Sophie on The Feminist Porn Awards (Part Three)

26 Apr

I hope you all had a happy Easter!  Eating is still a bit hard for me because of the root canal, but we made Kansas City style ribs, so I did my best!  Sophie’s back with the third and final part of her experience at the Feminist Porn Awards:

The Feminist Porn Awards themselves were a lot of fun! It was a really great opportunity to do a lot of networking and getting to talk more with some of the people who have truly inspired me in porn. Since I was 18 (or maybe slightly younger) I’ve been fascinated with the idea that porn could be more than what we understand it to be, so it was really gratifying to be surrounded by people who have shown me how true that can be.

I got all gussied up in my little garden party dress, put my hair up in a little chignon and headed out for the evening. First was a VIP cocktail hour, which was excellent for schmoozing and photo ops and generally being self-congratulatory for making it to this wonderful event. Once my friend date finally showed up, we got into our seats and the show began. It was full of burlesque (lady and gentleman varieties) and lots of genuine excitement for porn. Plus, the host of the evening happened to be on one of my favourite childhood shows, which was very unexpected and prompted some hilarious banter with her during intermission.

Awards went out to all sorts of wonderful recipients, all very deserving, and it showed that the selection panel really found a way to make sure that all sexualities were represented, that all bodies were represented and that everything from the tiniest DIY operation to a big company like Kink could win, as long as they’re showing that porn can and must be feminist!

Our category wasn’t until the second half, so I went around congratulating the amazing winners so far, grabbed another drink and got my silent auction on, all the while pretty nervous for what’s to come. I know I haven’t been too involved with the creative side of the site, but I still felt the nerves in a big way. Once we made it back to our seats, there were a few more awards and then it was our turn.

I didn’t know what to expect, but it turns out that they selected four websites instead of just one to honour, probably because there were so many amazing ones to choose from… Twelve in total, I think. They had a screen which showed the winners, starting fist by painstakingly spelling out the winning website. Once they had spelled “A-R-T-O” (they spelled it as Art of Blowjob instead of The Art of Blowjob, but no biggie…  That’s why we registered multiple domains!) I knew we had won, so I just started squeaking and hugging and shaking my hands as I made my way to the stage. The other winners (April Flores for Padded Kink, Tina Horn and Judy Minx Queerporn.tv and Shine Louise Houston for Heavenly Spire) joined me, but I was ushered to speak first.

I hadn’t done much speech preparation, but I knew what I wanted to say. I wanted to be succinct and to represent the website as best as I could. Through seeing the video (above) I think I achieved that, even if I managed to talk with my hands even more than the sign language interpreter. It was a really incredible moment and I’m very happy I got to be there to represent the site!

After that, there were a few more awards, a closing salute to the dedicated people from Good For Her who made the event possible, then lots more photo ops, schmoozing and dancing until the early hours of the morning! By the end, I won some badass toys/videos at the silent auction, I had met some of my biggest porn performer/director/journalist heros and managed to really connect nicely with a lot of them.

Holding that butt-plug shaped award in my hand made me feel like I really belong in the industry, and I’m happy to pass it along to Camille and Mike for all their amazing work. In just one week, I will have been working with them for a year and I can’t wait to see where we’ll go from here!
