My love of Nigella is no secret.  She’s simply gorgeous, she makes food that makes you salivate and she has this sensual approach to everything she touches.  Clearly, I’m not the only person who has noticed this.  Jezebel reported on a hilariously lecherous article that a Toronto food writer named Michele Henry wrote about her, which essentially reads like something from an erotic novel.

This is the best thing to happen to music and sexiness in a while.

I love all things Dita and I never hesitate to share what she does, but this is next level.  She’s singing with Monarchy and she’s starring in the music video.  As someone who also loves feeling sexy, embracing a retro look, making videos and singing…  This is exactly what I want.  And she’s amazing, too.  The song sounds like something that would appear in one of my videos…  I doubt we’d be able to get the rights, though.

This is just perfect.  The retro housewife exploring the most sensual reaches of her mind.  The writhing bodies in her brain, the way she slowly strips on the bed, the contrast with her sweet side…  She’s incredible.  There’s really nothing else to say.  It’s so erotic just to watch her sing.  Her mouth works effortlessly and her eyes are expressive but non-challante.  Then you add everything else and it’s almost over-stimulating, especially since the cinematography, direction, concept and everything work together so flawlessly.

So, what did you think?  Does a sexy retro music video do it for you?  It certainly does for me, and maybe even gave me a little inspiration…  Who knows?

We’ve shot in a few motels over the years, which I always find kind of kitschy and fun.  They feel like getting away to go do something sneaky and erotic.  Clearly I’m not the only one who feels that way.  Chas Ray Krider is a photographer who has created a series of photoshoots all taking place in motels called Motel Fetish.  As you can see from the above picture, he has even collaborated with Dita Von Teese!

I love the concept for his photos, which all have a beautiful vintage quality.  The settings are perfect for stockings, sexy dark lingerie and retro pinup glamour makeup and hair.  Even though I’ve been going for a more relaxed look lately, I still love this look a lot…  I am a Dita fan after all!

Do you like this aesthetic?  I’m very enraptured by it.  There’s such a lovely idea of the kinds of trysts that must have happened in those times…  It makes me feel inspired…

It’s been a year since Steve Jobs died and I just wanted to make a little blog post to commemorate his life and achievements.  As an huge Mac fan, I think he helped to make some wonderful things, but he also inspired me as an innovator.  His influence helped motivate me to find my own way to Think Different.

He will be missed.  There’s a lovely tribute video up on Apple’s website today.  I hope you get a chance to see it.

We’ve discussed the sensuality of food before here, but never quite in this light.  I’ve been experimenting a bit with primal baking to make things that are delicious and good for me too.  Then I came across this post on Jezebel, which brought a whole new meaning to the idea of finding something to feel good about with baked goods…

This is from a raw sugar company called Sugar in the Raw, and they basically ask people to submit censored versions of confections they made with raw sugar.  I guess it’s just too raw to see.  But I’m a little confused by the whole premise.  Don’t get me wrong…  I love sex and I love food, but I’m not totally clear on the pornographic connection beyond the “raw” designation of the sugar…

Hilarious comedian Hannibal Buress has a great standup act, which just happens to start with a discussion of something which is very close to me…  Youporn (and other tube site) comment sections.  I’ve shared some videos for promotion up on the tubes over the years, and it’s actually a really great way to share the message of beautiful porn.  As part of it, since I’m such a chatty person, I respond to comments.

Most are really sweet.  Kind compliments, excitement to see this kind of porn for the first time, stories of couples who have shared wonderful times because of the videos…  Lots of really nice discourse!  But, of course, it’s the internet, and it’s porn…  So there are always a few comments that I just don’t know how to respond to.  I can’t say I’ve ever had anything to the extent of what Hannibal is talking about, but one or two eyebrow raises…  That said, it’s all in good fun, of course, and I can take a quirky comment or two.

The rest of the set is great, too, covering everything from pickle juice to being bad before 7pm to his name which, yes, really is Hannibal.  I’d love to know…  How many of you have read the comments on a tube site.  If so, find any gems?  ;)  Oh, and have you ever left one yourself?

I like to have a good mix on this blog, of more insightful things, of more industry-related things, of more personal things and, of course, of more funny and light-hearted things.  Mike and I found this video online last night and we couldn’t help but laugh and keep randomly bursting out laughing while cooking, while brushing our teeth together, in bed…  Sometimes something just tickles your funny bone, but I know that he probably went to bed that night with terror in his heart too…

This video may just haunt your dreams.  Breasts aren’t the be all and end all of a woman, but we all have that little thing that we love about our partner, whether it’s physical or not.  Imagine if you woke up the next morning and it was gone!  Imagine if it vanished without a trace and no one even knew what you were talking about.  And imagine if there was a dark secret conspiracy going on…  Spooky stuff.  However, if Olivia Munn was a part of it, it might all be worth it.

This definitely hit close to home for Mike, as he’s a huge fan of my breasts.  You see him reaching for them enough in our videos.  :P  Asides from that, we loved this because it’s actually really well shot.  I love seeing people who understand the tropes of a genre, and this kind of horror/psychological thriller parody hits all the marks.  And the guy quivering in the corner and then her sinister look off in the distance…  Perfection.  I think that was what kept cracking us up.  I’d make the face she made and he would just fall to pieces every time.

Laughing is such an important part of a relationship, so I’m always glad to share this stuff with you too.  Hopefully you’ll be able to laugh with us.

I like to keep up on the happenings in the sexual world, so I peruse different advice columns, among other things, to see if anyone is talking about something interesting and potentially blogworthy.  Popular columnist Dan Savage had a question this week that made me reflect on the other half of a lot of the questions I’ve answered over the years:

I am desperately in need of your help. After eight years of marriage, it turns out that the blowjobs I give are “good but not great” and are now getting “boring.” My husband is unable to tell me anything specific that he wants me to do, just that I should “be creative.” I’ve done everything I can think of over the years, so I have no idea where to go from here! You can read his thoughtful response here, and I’ll just say that I concur and I wanted to use this as an opportunity to do a PSA for all the people who may be wondering how to get their partner to do something different/”better” sexually.  I am all for people being clear and vocal about what they want in order to get the pleasure that is important in a fulfilling sexual relationship, but not at the expense of someone’s feelings.  It’s important to remember that you have a real person who wants to make you feel good, who is making an effort to do nice things for you.

So, be gentle and be precise.  Explain that you don’t mean objectively bad or good, but that you are talking about what feels right for your body.  Give praise and be open to feedback about your techniques as well…  It pays so much to be kind to one another, even when it comes to sex!
