Apparently women don’t want a lot of things (well, namely, types of people) in their vaginas, at least according to this ad.  It’s a funny, tongue-in-cheek way of addressing the issue of condoms with too many irritants in their lubrication and spermicide, and I think it’s a pretty entertaining way to include the message.  I love when you can sneak in pertinent information along with humour or sexuality or even cute cats…  You know me!

That said, I think it’s too bad if women actually have these types of limitations.  I can definitely see the validity in some of them (the guys who come up and grind on you without your permission, whoever this Brad guy is…) but I think that keeping an open mind (and vagina?) is a good thing, because you never know when you’ll find the magician of your dreams!  And, of course, the same thing goes for men!  You may find that the person you end up with isn’t the one you’d expect, so there’s no point building up walls if you’re only going to have to take them back down.

I hope this made you laugh, but I’d also love to know if you have any of these dealbreakers, or (sadder) if you’ve ever had any dealbreakers applied to you!  I’ve got my listening hat on, so I’m all ears!

Here in Montreal, we have the metro.  I don’t take it incredibly often, since I love walking and we have a car (and motorcycles) but every once in a while it’s just nice to get a change of scenery.  I can’t say I’ve ever thought about it as being very sexy, but now my mind has been changed with this beautiful video by Marie Schuller, featuring Anita De Bauch.  I’m always a fan of a sexy Vimeo video, and this one is no exception.

Just watching her beautiful body (occasionally clad in Vivienne Westwood) is enough to make me swoon a little, and the music and cinematography only amplifies this erotic feeling.  She has a fairly modelesque body, which may not be for everyone, but it’s a body that occurs in nature just like anything else.  She’s very graceful and in charge, and I like that.

I think I would be a little more demure and cute, though that would also have its place in this kind of erotica.  It almost makes me want to try, but I’d be pretty scared to get caught.  Nothing quite like being lead away in handcuffs for public indecency or exposure on the metro…  Not that I’d know or anything.

I hope you’re ready to laugh, because this one’s a doozy…  Only it’s not funny and cute like a cat video, or funny and sexy like a blowjob parody song.  No, this is funny and sad like “People actually thought this was a good idea?”…  It’s called Harmless, and it is an earnest attempt at “edutaining” the masses using my beloved horror genre to display the awfulness of porn.

Apparently having a box full of porn will cause overdone demonic child-women with long black hair to descend upon your family.  Violet and Rye very clearly explained the hilarity of a box of porn being the porn method of choice in this film…  Apparently it’s still 1996.  I’ll have to go get my frosted nail polish!

While the attempt at horror in the trailer is just silly, the real scariness comes from the fact that this is a real attempt at denigrating porn and their Kickstarter was fully funded by like-minded people.  While the content itself isn’t going to convince anyone, the message clearly has.  I hope that more people vocally share their support of porn as a valuable (and not demon-summoning) tool for sexual self-discovery and for developing deeper connection in relationships.  People need to think critically, and this is doing just the opposite.

So, what do you think?  About the trailer, and about this issue in its entirety.  Is porn harmless?  Is the movie harmless?  Is the movement behind the movie harmless?  I always love sparking a good debate here…  Or maybe we’ll all end up on the exact same side.  ;)

This is a slightly older video (well, two months old) that I’ve had on the backburner for a while, and I figured I’d discuss it today because I’m just in that kind of mood…  It’s a video that Sasha Grey did for Equal Pay day, which is, on the surface, a very good idea.  It’s based on the idea that women often make significantly less than men doing the same work.  People have different rationalizations for why this is the case, but the fact of the matter is that this continues to be an issue, both in North America and throughout the world.  In a way, it’s a very good thing that Sasha lent her voice to this issue, but watch the full video and I think you’ll get quite a different picture by the end.  No, go ahead.  I can wait.  ;)

Done?  What did you think about the message at the end?  It seemed to pretty much devalue everything that Sasha has done with her porn career, doesn’t it?  ”Porn is about the only way to make more than a man. Find a better alternative on equalpayday.be.”  Wow.  Now, I realize that there’s more than one way to read this statement, and they may in fact have been referring to the fact that there is a better general alternative to the current pay scale issues, but come on.  They are clearly thriving on this ambiguous statement, especially considering the stark tone of the film and her voice, and her own decision to leave the porn industry.

Say what you will about Sasha’s career, but she seems to have done everything in her own way with her own interests in mind.  She even indicates this in the video…  So why the need to create some sort of pornographic martyr character in the name of sparking discussion?  Well, I guess because it sparks discussion…  In the name of discussion, what do you think about this issue in general, and what do you think about the fact that it’s framed around the (perceived negative) porn industry?

I love to tease!  This is fairly common knowledge.  I love the moments of anticipation leading up to something exciting and new.  That’s so much of The Art of Blowjob…  It’s really all about the art of the tease.  So, that’s what I’m going to do today with you guys…  There is something on the horizon…  Perhaps closer than you think.  It’s slow moving, but I think you’ll agree that taking it slow is part of what makes something extra sensuous…
