Oh, XKCD, you never fail to make this geek giggle. This particular comic has always resonated with me, and I feel that I come back to it a lot. This isn’t to say that I’m sick of hearing about the totally legitimate concerns and tribulations surrounding the penis, but I do dearly wish we lived in a society where they didn’t need to be so prevalent.
I get asked time and time again about what I think about circumcision, as if there is a right answer. I hear so many uncut men who are afraid that women don’t like foreskins… I hear so many circumcised men who are worried about the sensation they may have lost… It just makes me sad to think about all these people with such doubt about these amazing parts of their bodies. The male ego is so much more fragile than people think, and there is so much damage done when we have such innate cultural preferences about something that’s difficult or impossible to change. Of course, this goes beyond just penises, but that’s where my head is… No pun intended.
My biggest problem is with the size dilemma, because I work in porn. The industry pushes such a uniform penis model and it has seeped into the male consciousness so much. When we show our porn with a totally lovely and average penis, people just don’t know what to do about it. Some people react well, some others not so well… It’s mostly just surprising to people. I think that if more porn companies showed a wider range of shapes and sizes, we’d be so much better off. For now, at least we have XKCD to be the voice of reason.
I don’t know if it’s because my penis is about the same size as Mike’s, or if it’s just because I’ve been seeing him for so long, but now when I watch porn with “industry standard” super-sized men, they seem abnormal rather than some “holy grail” to which I should aspire. So… kudos on having TAOB work its magic reverse psychology on at least one guy!

Also, I wonder if anyone’s ever made a funny video about various people holding their hands apart a various number of inches, and then reveal that they all work in a shoe store and are measuring people’s feet, or are amateur fishermen talking about the size of the fish they’ve caught, or something totally random like that? I totally agree, Cal. It’s nice to get accustomed to something that isn’t attempting to create a “gold standard” of penis sizes… There’s nothing wrong with any size. It’s all about variety and respecting and enjoying whatever is attached.
Funny that you mention that, Camille. I think you have them in Canada also, but there is a fast food sandwich chain here in the states called Subway. They litter TV with commercials depicting people holding up both hands, measuring out an imaginary foot long sandwich. I’m sure that they knew what they were doing when they came up with this campaign. Everyone that I observe watching these commercials ends up laughing. But why are they laughing?
This is a topic that I relate with and constantly struggle with. I am also comparative in size to Mike, but it’s hard to tell. I’m not at all afraid to admit that the thing that have helped me the most are visiting here. I know that there are other resources, but actually having a virtual conversation with Camille makes me feel like I’m talking to a friend.

What I really like about your videos is not the size of the cock. I’m used to size variations… so that’s not as surprising for me.
