This is really spectacular, isn’t it? You all know how much I love receiving fan art, so imagine my happiness when I opened my inbox to receive this incredible gem. It’s a digital painting of me by an artist named Dariusz Zapała, and he was kind enough to let me share it with all of you here on my blog. What a nice guy!
I love the way he used the “brush strokes” to create an abstract and yet very realistic version of myself. All of the highlights and lowlights in my hair are perfectly captured and I absolutely love the way he accentuated a little luminescence on my cheeks. It’s so playful, yet so very true to form. Even my little sneaky half-smile is perfectly captured, both in the mouth and in the eyes… That’s such a special little nuance.

Camille, I love how all the fan art you’ve shared has revealed the different aspects that people love about you– sometimes more playful, sometimes more profound, sometimes (okay, always) straight-up sexy. It’s a great testament to the real, three-dimensional person that you are— and that you share with us in your work and words.
