The good people over at Flowtown have made a chart after my own heart. This lovely little Geek Flowchart has me all over it, and I was absolutely enamoured when I saw it, despite its lack of lady geeks like myself. So, which geeks do I identify with?
Obviously our good friend the internet geek. As a programmer/web site builder, he and I are two peas in a pod… Or a sweater vest.
As he clings to his iPad, this fellow social media and blogging aficionado could trade quips about sleek Apple design all day on any of our many platforms.
Voyager and TNG forever! My love of Captain Picard takes up a huge place in my heart… This one needs very little explanation.
I love getting a little quality time with StarCraft II, a little Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood or maybe even some Zombie Smash (I still love it!) or anything else that captures my attention. I just love escaping into my own world for a bit… Also, winning.
The food and design geeks embody my love of everything pleasing to the senses and my love of creativity. I’m very particular about my aesthetics, and I do geek over fonts just as much as I love getting in the kitchen with a new recipe or making something up on the fly.
As a film making geek, as well as a lover of horror, zombies and Tarantino, I think it’s fair to say that I fit in as a film geek, even if that isn’t one of my dominant geek trades. Also, I’m a major music geek. I just love getting my hands on an instrument (no, not like that) and finding a way to make it work beautifully. Plus, I love writing my own music, which just fuses it all together and leaves me for many nights working intently on getting everything just right.
So, what kind of a geek are you?

There are Geek Friends of mine who refer to me as The GodEmperor Of Geeks… I’ll stick to that one thanks…
Cause I can mix Firefly, reboot-BSG and classic Dr Who elements into one quote…. while red-wine deglazing a cast-iron pan, break into a sea-shanty, while upgrading RAM in your laptop, then prep for a One-Man, stage version of It’s A Wonderful Life (One of the best theatre experiences I’ve ever had) while wishing someone would pay me to voice the audio book version of the newest Neil Gaiman or William Gibson book…
All before breakfast
I would have to agree with your title, my liege!
i am a film and music geek and also the deisign and food geek, actually i am some of all the above but not full blown in any category, lol.
zombie movies? i love the resident evil series
Geek On!
Geek on with you bad self too, Andrew!
Most of my “Geeks” aren’t on this chart, but that doesn’t mean they don’t exist…. As a writer, I’m a Word Geek first and foremost– words like “kerfuffle” and “orchidaceous” totally make my skin tingle. I’m also a Film and Music Geek, but not in any specific genre (I have wide tastes). I suppose I’m a softcore Joss Whedon Geek; I do love all his work. My roommate is a Single-Malt Scotch Geek; we currently have 13 different varieties on the shelf. (Yum!)
And I think it’s legit to call myself a Sex Geek. Knowing that the “mons pubis” is also called the “mons veneris,” which means “mound or mount of Venus,” or that the penis is shaped like a boomerang (the “other half” is hidden inside the body), or that the “Colonel Angus” episode is the funniest sex-themed skit on SNL [http://www.hulu.com/watch/4109/saturday-night-live-colonel-angus-comes-home] is adequate qualification, no?
I’m definitely a bit of a sex geek too! But sadly Hulu won’t let me watch your awesome video because I’m a Canadian. Such a shame.
Okay, I feel so geek inadequate.
It’s okay! It takes all kinds to make the world go around.
I’m a film geek and a big time music geek. I love vinyl. But Camille, of all the geek-doms you belong to, really “blow job geek” is the best of them.
That’s a very special kind of geekdom there.
I consider myself an “Old School Geek.”
Please allow me to present my credentials:
-The first computer game I ever played was stored on an audio cassette and “downloaded” onto a computer that predated hard drives.
-I saw Star Wars eleven times within the first two weeks of its premiere.
-My parents bought me the 1st edition of Dungeons & Dragons (the now legendary “blue box” set) for my twelfth birthday. Within days, I was a Dungeon Master running adventures for my awestruck proto-geek friends.
Fast forward to 2011. I am a recovering World of Warcraft junkie, Battlestar Galactica has eclipsed Star Wars in my esteem and just last week I helped my daughter roll up her first D&D character.
Geekdom is in my DNA.

That all checks out. Welcome to the bureau of geekery.
Ha-ha! Thanks for playing along.
…So Camille, now that I’m in, will the bureau be issuing me an iPad? My Old School geekery needs a serious tech upgrade. I’m certain your charm and influence reaches to the highest levels of B.O.G.
You’ll have to take that up with HR.
I kind i’m between GymBo and porn geek… Btw also videogames and music…
But I’m kinda stuck with just 2 bands now: augustana and Stone Sour…
Btw, have a nice tech life…
Anyone is an holiday geek?
I don’t know if there are any holiday geeks…
I started out a NERD (BS-Engineering)
and became a GEEK (IT job – SQL Developer).
I have Gibbs syndrome (from NCIS – love of Red-Heads).
Power to the Geeks!
You sound geekilicious!
