Yeah… I heard about that. Reminds me of something that happened in the early 90′s. I was living in a highrise in downtown Chicago. I had a crappy computer with a 14.4 baud modem. It literally took 10 minutes just to sign on to AOL. Anyway… I met this girl in one of the chat rooms. We moved to AIM and IM’d for a few weeks. She sent photos of herself and looked pretty hot. I got tired of the chat, though, and wanted to call her – move to the real world. She kept stalling and putting it off. I finally told her that I couldn’t continue “as is” – that I wanted to speak to her. She finally consented, but had to apologize. She thought we had a connection, so she came clean and SHE ended up being a HE – a 50-year-old plumber named Frank. Ha! I wasn’t pissed. I was more amused than anything else. Needless to say, I waved goodbye to my he/she friend.

The anonymity the Web provides isn’t always a good thing…

There IS a teenage alt girl on the internet named Alexa DiCarlo though, she’s been all over VampireFreaks and a few other major teen hangouts, I’ve seen photos of her holding hand scrawled signs stating she is the real Alexa DiCarlo, I can only hope the people hunting for “Alexa” for justice don’t happen to fall on this poor child. I also wonder if the child Alexa was involved in any way with any of the teen sex advice sites/forums that have been brought up. It may explain where/how the name was chosen..

It’s just unfortunate because the duping seems to have included some compromising things done to new sex workers, Brandon. It’s a little beyond just the fake persona.
